Delete Internet Explorer Cookies

How to delete cookie files in Internet Explorer 8

Cookies can live in the memory of your Browser while it is active. Some cookies can then recreate themselves when you close down your browser. If you were to remove all cookies from IE while it was running, there is a chance that some cookies would return when you closed the IE browser. This is why it is important to clear your internet explorer cookie files while all instances of the IE browser are closed.

Ensure you have closed all instances of internet explorer down.

Depending on the operating system you are running, do one of the following:

1. Running Windows Vista or Windows 7 - click the Start button and type inetcpl.cpl in the Start Search box. Now press ENTER.

OR

2. Running Windows XP - click Startand then click Run. Now type inetcpl.cpl in the Open box, and then press ENTER.

On the General tab, click Delete under Browsing History in the Internet Properties dialog box.

In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click to clear all of the check boxes except for the Cookies check box, and then click Delete.
